Syria after the earthquakes

0

A sequence of earthquakes within the month of February have devastated the Turkey-Syria border area. Because the dying toll rises and hundreds of thousands are displaced, questions stay as to how Syrians and the worldwide group will deal with the aftermath.

On March 6, the Heart for Center East Coverage at Brookings will host a dialogue on Syria and the results of the current earthquakes. Specialists will focus on the medium- and long-term coverage and humanitarian help measures wanted to assist populations in rebuilding, and whether or not the earthquakes will shift Syria coverage after over a decade of civil struggle. Audio system will look at the function of sanctions and insurance policies on help entry, the native and multilateral humanitarian response, and the prospects for the way forward for the rebel-held northwest Syria and the Syrian regime.

Viewers can submit questions by emailing occasions@brookings.edu or by becoming a member of the dialog on Twitter with #Syriaevent.
